Content Filtering

The following methods of filtering content on the Internet that have been implemented:

SAU 39 issued devices (ex. Staff Laptops, Student 1:1 Laptops, etc.)

Deledao:

  1. Deledao is the current software that SAU39 uses to filter the internet for inappropriate content.
  2. Filtering by Deledao is only taking place on devices issued by SAU39 to Staff and Students. Filtering will take place on these devices regardless of being on or off campus.
  3. Because the school district accepts Federal funding we need to provide a level of web filtering that adheres to the Children's Internet Protection Act that the congress approved back in 2001. This all can be fond here: http://www.fcc.gov/guides/childrens-internet-protection-act
  4. The way that Deledao is intended to work is by a client being installed on the SAU39 provided device. With this client installed on the computer the users network login credentials are passed along to the Deledao filter granting appropriate access to the internet based on the the user.
