AMS Drop Off and Dismissal Procedures

AMS Morning Drop Off and Afternoon Dismissal

Drop-off - Please pull up as far as you can along the front of the building each morning. You all have precious cargo and we know that allowing each vehicle to pull up as far as possible allows for less stress on a student feeling already pressured about their day and stressed drivers to get in and out of the line as efficiently as possible.

Pick-Up - again, pulling up as far as you can is best to assist all students and drivers to get through the line as efficiently as possible. Also, drivers picking up at the AMS property should arrive no sooner than 2:30PM.

DECEMBER 2020 Letter on Revised Pick Up Procedures

FAMILIES A-G will continue to enter the AMS parking lot as usual at 2:30pm for pick up.

We will no longer use the  Amherst Recreation Department parking lot and back driveway to the Souhegan High School parking lot as winter weather turns to more typical ice and snow accumulations

Please use the roadway of Cross Road to temporarily line up before entering the AMS campus. Each school day we ask you to pick up your child at AMS after lining up on Cross Road from 2:30-2:40PM. (See aerial map below) We will have a staff member present to assist with the line up and release of vehicles each day providing an efficient and effective flow of traffic so not to block the residential use of Cross Road.

On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, we hand-delivered a letter to all homeowners on Cross Road asking for their patience as we use their roadway for staging cars prior to pick up. Please be considerate of our neighbors and mindful as you line up waiting to pick up your child. We appreciate your attention to leaving their driveways clear for easy access and staying to one side of the street allowing them to still travel the road to and from their homes.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation as we make a change from the Amherst Recreation Department to using Cross Road and want to hear from you with any concerns or questions you may have. This change to our line up at dismissal will begin Monday, December 7, 2020 at 2:30 PM. If you have any questions or concerns please contact our Assistant Principal, John Schuttinger at school (603) 673-8944 or via email at

Thank you for your assistance supporting our students and their families.
