Amherst DI Teams Finish Strong at State Finals

Amherst Destination Imagination Teams Finish Strong at State Finals

It’s an academic tournament unlike any other – and Saturday in Nashua four Amherst student teams finished in third or fourth place for their respective challenge and age levels.

They competed against more than 200 teams in New Hampshire to reach this point. These students spent five months crafting solutions to challenges focused in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) or Service Learning Challenges. Teams were appraised on creativity, problem-solving and collaboration abilities, as well as “think on their feet” problem-solving skills. In the process, teams learn to combine soft skills, such as communication skills, with hard knowledge skills – the Future of Work Skills.
