SHS Science Teacher Awarded STEM Excellence in Teaching Award
MELISSA CHAPMAN AWARDED STEM EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARD

Melissa Chapman, science teacher at Souhegan High School was awarded this year’s STEM Excellence in Teaching Award at the high school level. This award is presented yearly to an elementary level teacher, a middle school level teacher and a high school level teacher. This award recognizes teachers that go above and beyond to educate students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It highlights a teacher’s ability to develop an interesting curriculum, intriguing class activities, creative use of class time and materials and innovative promotion of learning in the STEM subjects.
Melissa was nominated for this award by her students, administrators and colleagues back in January of this year, and was presented with the award in April. The award included a plaque and a cash stipend that will help with classroom expenses.
