Reading to a friendly dog can be a real confidence-booster for beginning readers. Come and read to Brook, an Australian Shepherd, and her partner, Monica, on Monday, May 6, and Monday, May 20 at 3:30. Come in or call the Children’s Room at 673-2288 to register for ten minutes of “quality reading time” with Brook!
DROP-IN STEM TIME on FRIDAYS:
Friday, May 3 from 3:00-4:30: Construct a course and take a test drive with our huge collection of matchbox cars!
Ages 3 and up. No registration required.
Come and Build
Friday May 17 from 3:00 – 4:30: Put down the tablet and play with some real toys! Build the “construction project” of your dreams with our collection of Legos, blocks, marble runs, etc.
Ages 4 and up. No registration required.
Tech-Time for Kids
Friday, May 24 from 3:00-4:30: Come and explore our collection of S.T.E.M.-based activity kits: Snap-Circuits, Citiblocks, Ozobots, and more… we make them available, you enjoy an opportunity for make-your-own fun!
Ages 7 and up. No registration required.
COMING IN JUNE… A UNIVERSE OF STORIES!! SUMMER READING PROGRAM
June 17 to August 9, we’ll be providing a wonderful variety of activities— crafts, exploration opportunities, storytimes, movies, and of course—-lots and lots of books for READING!! Children will be encouraged to keep their “reading muscles” strong by working their way through this year’s reading log, earning stickers, books and prizes along the way. Keep your eyes open for our SUMMER CALENDAR, which will list all the programs and activities that will be available. Your library is the place to go for summer fun! www.amherstlibrary.org
