Dear Parents and Guardians,
Early adolescence is an exciting but sometimes confusing and challenging time for both teens and the adults in their lives. Our Annual Project Safeguard Conference aims to provide useful information, as well as a starting point for dialogue on some topics that can be difficult or awkward. This year’s conference will be on Wednesday, October 30th, and we hope you will be able to join us.
All presentations will be held at the Amherst Middle School. The keynote address begins at 7:55 a.m., and registration for adults will begin at 7:30 in the AMS lobby. The program will end at 2:19 p.m. All students will arrive at school as usual, and attendance will be taken in homeroom.
A lunch of pizza, salad, bottled water and a dessert will be available at a cost of $7.00/person. If you would like to order lunch for yourself and/or your student, please complete the lunch order form and return it with payment to the student’s homeroom teacher. Students will not be able to purchase the regular lunch or other food in the cafeteria that day, but parents and students may bring their own lunches.
Instructions for registering for sessions are on the reverse side, and course descriptions for each of the sessions and an overview of the schedule for sessions are also provided. Each student and adult participant will have the opportunity to attend four sessions in addition to the opening and closing sessions. Some sessions are just for adults or students, and others are open to all. Please work together to schedule your day. Some sessions have maximum capacities, so the sooner you register on line, the better are your chances of getting your first choices. The online registration will be open on Monday, September 16, at 3:00. Registrations should be completed on line by Friday, October 11, 2019. If you are unable to register by that date due to uncertainty about your schedule, please register as soon as you are able, but you will not be able to order lunch after October 11.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us.
