"Souhegan High School aspires to be a community of learners born of respect, trust and courage. We consciously commit ourselves: "To support and engage an individual's unique gifts, passions and intentions. To develop and empower the mind, body and heart. To challenge and expand the comfortable limits of thought, tolerance and performance. To inspire and honor an active stewardship of family, nation and globe."

The word "community" is rooted in the notion of common-unity. What is it that we have in common here at Souhegan? We come together each day, students, teachers, coaches, and faculty, to learn. We are here to empower the mind, body, and heart in such a way that reflects the mission statement above. Our common purpose is to acquire new knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will keep us challenging our comfortable limits and engaging unique gifts and passions.

    Criteria

Volunteer service to any non-profit, religious, civic, school or elderly group will meet the service qualifications at Souhegan High School. Examples are Animal Rescue League, Hartshorn Environmental camps, local Soup Kitchens and Food Pantries, Parkhurst Place visits, Church work camps and youth group work. Theater and music benefit shows, helping with school productions (not attached to specific crews), PTA Play, and Theater for Children.

Students at Souhegan High School are required to log 40 hours of service to meet the graduation requirements.

Community Service opportunities engage students in new activities and learning experiences. New opportunities will be posted on this website. These opportunities could take place in the school helping out teachers after school, or outside of school in the community.
