The 7th and 8th grade students will go through to the library during the next 2 weeks to see the three panels we have from the NAMES Project. The Amherst Middle School Library has been displaying different panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt for about 15 years. The library has three different panels every year. The displays have been in the library as a visual reminder of World AIDS Day which is on December 1st. In the United States, there are more than 48,000 individual 3-by-6-foot memorial panels with most of them commemorating the life of someone who has died of AIDS. The quilts will be up through Friday, December 5th; all are welcome to visit!
