RE: New Health Insurance Marketplace Coverage Options
We are writing to you about a new requirement imposed by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) requiring employers to provide notice to all current employees and new hires about the availability of coverage through “Health Insurance Exchanges” (now referred to as “the Marketplace”).
As a current employee, or new employee hired after October 1, 2013, you are receiving the attached documents titled: New Health Insurance Marketplace Coverage Options and Your Health Coverage - Part A and Part B to inform you of our requirement to provide notice to our current employees about availability, subsidies and other related items regarding Marketplace coverage which becomes available to eligible individuals as of January 1, 2014.
Please note that (i) the Notice is required by law and designed to inform employees of the existence of the Marketplace, (ii) employees covered by the group health plan do not need to enroll in the Marketplace, and (iii) employees not covered by a group health plan may want to consider obtaining coverage through the Marketplace in 2014.
New Health Insurance Marketplace Coverage Options and Your Health Coverage - Part A and Part B are below by District.
