Amherst Middle School Theater Club
Dear AMS Student and Parents,
Head over to our audition site and there you will find an online form to fill out and submit as well as lots of information!
Once your form is submitted we will contact you via email about which date and time we would like to see you for auditions. Crew members do not need to go to auditions but still need to fill out and submit a participation packet.
Cast and crew students need to choose one of the two student information sessions to attend and meet the directors and learn more about what to expect in this production. Your choices are September 18th at 4:30pm-5:30pm or September 29th at 6:30pm-7:30pm. We will also hold two optional audition prep meetings. This is a great opportunity for those who would like help preparing for their audition. Check the website for those dates!
Once the show is cast we will have a closed google site for cast and crew members that will hold our call schedule (who is called for what rehearsal and how long). This site will be announced at the Parent/Student Kick off Meeting (check the website!). Crews will be meeting on a combination of Tuesdays or Thursdays depending the crew and our parent volunteer schedules. Their specific schedules will be announced via the google site when we have confirmed the Parent Volunteer Leaders and parent volunteer schedules. Not all crews will be needed every week and will either be called once or twice during the week.
We are a volunteer-run Club. Your support and help is necessary and appreciated! We will need Parent Leads to help our crew members in specific areas. Parent Leads will work with the Directing team and the students to achieve the goals for each crew group. We will need other Parent Volunteers to help out with task items where Students are not able to complete themselves. Our Crew Groups are, Photojournalism, Brand Ambassadors, Hair/Makeup and Costumes, Stage crew, Lighting Crew, and Sound Crew. Our website has more details about each crew. This year we also need a Volunteer Coordinator and a Rehearsal Team member, please consider these positions. Crews and other traditions from past years will not be able to continue if the parent volunteer slots do not get filled.
Theater Club is considered a varsity level club at AMS. We will be collecting Activity fees from each student after confirmation of participation, $75 for Cast and $55 for Crew. There will be additional costs for t-shirts, wrap party, DVD's, and some costuming costs. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or the AMS Main Office if this is a hardship for your family.
We look forward to seeing past Club Members and meeting new Club Members! If you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com.
Have a great start to school!
